Meet the Counselors
Fern Gold
Fern received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Clark University and went on to receive a JD Degree from Pace University School of Law and then a Masters Degree in School Counseling from C.W. Post (now LIU Post). After Law school, Fern practiced Real Estate law and Trusts & Estates at a Garden City law firm. While raising her family in Setauket, Fern returned to school to obtain her Masters in School Counseling. Currently, she is working one on one with the Pre-Law students at a local University, where she helps guide the students through the Law School Admissions process and provides students with the insight needed to be successful in law school. She has also been providing counseling for high school students in regard to college and career choices for over 8 years. Her goal is to simplify the College/Graduate school application process and find a college that fits each students needs.
Kelly Haller
Kelly earned a Bachelor of Arts from Stony Brook University with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. Kelly then went on to earn a Master of Science in School Counseling at New York Institute of Technology, graduating with distinction. Kelly has worked over 13 years advising students in a variety of capacities. Beginning her career at NYIT as an Associate Bursar, Kelly has experience advising on student loans & health insurance. She then joined the LIU Post community as a Senior Academic & Career Counselor. She advised all students on campus. Currently, Kelly is a pre-health advisor at a local prestigious university assisting student on their journey towards health professions. Her specialities include students pursuing health professions, assisting with financial aid, and career counseling.
